A Calgary framing company built around a method, not just a headcount. Here's what drives how we work.
Most framing crews rent a telehandler when they need one. We built our entire system around it — specifically the green rotative telehandler built by Merlo, the boom that rotates 360°, lifts panels, and makes on-site prefab possible at scale.
The telehandler lets us prefab wall and floor panels on-site and fly them into position — faster and safer than stick-framing, without the shop markup or freight delay of off-site prefab. That machine is on every site we run. That's where the name comes from.
Most framing companies work one stick at a time. GRC builds differently — and it shows in the schedule.
Wall sections are assembled flat on-site, then lifted into position with the telehandler. No shop overhead. No freight. No waiting.
Because panels are built on the ground, we can start fabricating before the foundation is fully ready — compressing your overall project schedule.
Experienced lead hands manage crew output, not just their own work. One strong lead multiplies the production of everyone around them.
We plan ahead. Materials are staged before they're needed. Problems are solved before ownership gets involved. Your site supervisor has other things to worry about.
Safety compliance isn't a talking point at GRC — it's a hiring criterion. We screen for it during the application process and evaluate it on a rolling basis as part of every crew member's performance review.
Our lead hands are expected to enforce safety standards without being reminded. That expectation is written into their role, not added as an afterthought.
On multifamily sites, where multiple trades are working in close quarters, a crew that doesn't self-police becomes a liability for everyone. We take that seriously.
Framing errors caught at the frame stage cost minutes. The same errors caught at drywall or inspection cost days. Our crews are expected to self-check their work before moving to the next stage — it's a non-negotiable part of how we operate.
This is evaluated in every performance review. It's also why we only hire experienced framers — the judgment to know what to check comes with time on tools.
The result is a frame that passes inspection the first time and doesn't generate rework callbacks for your builder.
GRC is owner-operated. Both principals are reachable directly — no layers, no account managers. That access goes both ways: we hold ourselves to the same accountability we expect from the crew.
